Today was MUCH better than yesterday.
My hallway-mates and I decided to have a dance party between classes. We danced to Cupid Shuffle, Wobble, Electric Slide and ChaCha Slide. Some kids joined in. Some kids took videos. We needed something to help lighten the mood this week. We’ll be back at it again tomorrow.
After school, I went to my daughter’s debate tournament. While she did well, the event itself was a complete shitshow. I sent a scathing email to the organizers. I felt bad for the kids and sponsors. I will never go to one of the events again.
While I was at the tournament, I received a text congratulating me on receiving an award from CSPA. I didn’t know they released the winners yet. I was named a 2020 Special Recognition Adviser from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

I spoke to my friend Abbey Clements from Sandy Hook tonight. She has been such a huge support since everything happened. Listening to her describe feelings and things related to trauma/PTSD, it was like she was in my head. We were on the phone for about an hour. I ended the call by telling her that she means more to me than she will ever know. I just appreciate her support, guidance and love.
